What is Promotional Products Week?
Promotional Products Week is a celebration of the Promotional Products Industry. The aim of PPW is to nationally raise the profile of promotional products and encourage their use within the marketing mix.
We want companies to recognise the value of promotional products and understand the many different ways they can improve brand awareness. Promotional Products Week (PPW) will take place from the 14th-18th September 2015. BPMA

This year's PPW coincided with the approaching Rugby World Cup which had sparked a new demand for branded promotional items, with sponsors and brands hoping that the euphoria of the event would allow them to engage with their customers on a very personal level, trying to give them mementoes of the event that they will keep for years.
What did we learn from Promotional Products Week?
Firstly, the bpma had invested in buyers and consumers attitudes to promotional gifts. PPW showcased promotional merchandise at its best highlighting its essential role in the marketing mix and explaining why it was continually used by marketers keen to make an impact.
Notable companies that truly attracted attention through their marketing, choice in promotional products or their stands at PPW will be discussed below.

|
The Rugby World Cup 2015 merchandise was the most notable branded merchandise found during the event. As the World Cup is being hosted in UK at the same time of the week, it would be foolish not to promote Rugby related products at a promotional product event. Branding of the World Cup was found on a vast array of products, anything from mini rugby balls to hats and mugs.
Fluid Branding

Fluid Branding showed how successful promotional products can be for increased brand awareness and recognition. This promotional company is famous for it's quality and it's fantastic ideas. Fluid Branding truly went all out this PPW as it's banners, umbrellas and other promotional items were found across the event. They were even found caught in the rain, but luckily they had their branded umbrellas.

Promo The Panda

|
Promo The Panda was PPW's promotional mascot, and this little bundle of plush went everywhere in this event. When attendees tweeted #PromoThePanda they were able to claim a Promo the Panda Plush Toy for themselves. This was ingenious marketing from PPW as the plush toy can only highlight the exhibition in a more physical way than simply the amount of tweets.
Outstanding Branding

As well as taking part in PPW, Outstanding also raised money for Save the Children charity by offering free badges to those whom donated. This obviously raised money for the charity, but also used the attention of PPW to raise well needed attention for the Save the Children charity.
