This year proved to be a challenging one for all of us in the promotional products space. While some of us took to producing PPE to help with the pandemic, others had to come up with creative solutions to stay afloat during this difficult period.

However, things seem to be looking up this holiday season, and we remain optimistic that it will be carried into 2021.  We have decided to collate a list of the items we believe will be the top trending products for next year. 

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

The pandemic affected businesses worldwide, with many of us forced to work from home. However, with the economy opening back up, the streets are begining to fill with people and emoloyees are returning to work. By focusing on PPEs, it is a great way to show that your brand cares about their consumers. This includes items such as sanitising wipes, alcohol sprays and face masks.

Masks are a simple barrier to help prevent your respiratory droplets from reaching others. Studies show that masks reduce the spray of droplets, helping prevent individuals from contract airborne diseases. Masks alsoprevent cross-contamination. Having a logo on the masks can be a stylish and safe way for brands to penetrate the market

Electronic Products for the Workforce

Many employees are still working remotely, with majority working from home. This means that many of them are looking to upgrade their electronics to be better equipped for their work. In addition, companies must ensure that their data is not compromised and safe from viruses and hackers.

$3.55 Million Promotional Items Class Action Lawsuit

According to the suit, the defendants - Zaappaaz,Inc.; Gennex Media,LLC ; Netbrands Media Corp and Custom Wristbands conspired to fix prices on promotional items sold online through text messages, social media and meetings from May 2014 to June 2016. Some of the promotional items included wristbands, lanyards,buttons and temporary tattoos.

The scheme is said to be the brainchild of Netbrands Media Corp's executive Mashnoon Ahmed and Gennex Media,LLC's CEO AK Kuriji. The 4 defendants settled the class action lawsuit for $3.55 million.

Akil Kuriji

Akil Kuriji entered a guilty plea in April 2019 on antitrust violations, this led him to serve 8 months in prison. He is the founder of supplier PMGOA, which he has been focusing on since his release. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he lead the company's selling of masks helping to add 150 jobs in 3 months. He was also recently diagnosed with a brand tumour and is preparing to step down but remains a shareholder in the company.

Mashnoon Ahmed

Ahmed was sentenced to 6 months in prison with a 3 years of supervised release with a $20,000 fine. He was identified as the CEO of Netbrands Media that did business under imprint.com and 24hourwristbands.com.
